Beach type & size: Sand - Medium Infos: The sandy beach next to the harbor is quiet wide. It gets seriously crowded in summer, beach will be packed with tourists, so no way to launch there. Avoid hot sunny days. Look out for the harbor wall in E and NE winds. Identified hazards: Concrete Beachgoer: July, August Weather specificities: Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22C in summer, normally around 15C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30C, spring and fall around 15C. Wind type: Frontal Wind specificities: Best winds in spring and fall. Summer lighter winds, can have nice East winds. Any strength possible with depressions from SW. Best in Easterlies. Access description: by Car - From Hamburg and Luebeck drive North on the A1. Exit where signs say `Groemitz` and follow that direction. In Groemitz get to the beach. More space next to the harbor.
