Located in Levico Terme, Italy, this paragliding site offers an elevation of 1481 meters with a height difference of 1050 meters. It is a very popular spot, known for excellent soaring conditions and the potential for impressive cross-country (XC) flights, especially towards the east. The site is accessible by car, with parking available near the takeoff area. The best season for XC flights is April and May, although flying is possible year-round. Top landing is also an option.
The region boasts several notable records, including a site record of 180.1 km. The takeoff area is well-frequented and features a café, making it a comfortable spot to prepare for your flight. However, be aware of occasional strong valley winds.
The local club, Volo Libero Trentino, has established a new takeoff area at Vetriolo Terme, approximately 1500 meters in altitude, facing south. This location is equipped with a wooden ramp for delta wings and a natural slope for paragliders. The site offers excellent flying conditions even in winter and is unique in the Alps for allowing flights with north winds.
The official landing zone is in Barco di Levico, a large field in the valley center managed by Volo Libero Trentino. It is equipped with windsocks and ample parking space. The landing area is safe and spacious, with winds typically coming from the south or north.
For those not interested in flying, the region offers various activities such as trekking, historical tours, cycling, climbing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, and water skiing on the lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico. In winter, you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and ski mountaineering.
Access to the takeoff areas is straightforward. From Trento or Bassano del Grappa, take the Valsugana highway to Levico Terme and follow signs for 'Panarotta 2002'. The drive from Levico to the Vetriolo takeoff takes about 20 minutes on a paved road, with an additional 30 minutes on a dirt road to reach the Panarotta takeoff.
