The Top 20 Paragliding sites in Morocco:
Aglou Beach
Experience the thrill of coastal soaring along kilometers of sandy cliffs with sea breeze conditions. You can always find a section of the cliff that aligns with the breeze, making it a perfect playground for mastering top landings until sunset. Be cautious of the sand, which is mixed with sharp shell fragments and can be very abrasive to your wing. Similar to Tifnit, this area is a park, so please be courteous to any guards who might (though rarely) cause issues. Also, be wary of potential impostor guards. For accommodation, consider Hotel Aglou Beach, which offers good food, decent rooms at reasonable prices, and even WiFi. Watch a video of the area here: [Vimeo](http://vimeo.com/33067390) Aglou Plages is located 100 km south of Agadir and northwest of Tiznit. This is a pure soaring spot, relatively isolated, with 3.5 km of cliffs ranging from 20 to 80 meters high. Flying is possible even with a light breeze. It’s a small paradise for paragliders who prefer less crowded sites compared to nearby locations like Nid d'aigle and Legzira. The local community is very welcoming if you respect the few locals, who are experts in ground handling and soaring. They take off even when seagulls are barely flapping their wings against the ridge! Below the takeoff area, there is a cave-inn where you can quench your thirst, enjoy a fish tagine, or fall asleep to the sound of the waves. If you want to thermal, head to the small mountain east of Aglou, located 1 km from the coast with a 200-meter elevation gain. Thermals in front of you will allow you to follow the ridges descending southward. For the lucky ones, you might reach Nid d'aigle, 14 km away. Two specialized paragliding facilities are based in Aglou: one run by Abdou and Phil, and the other by Aziz. They can help you explore Aglou and the sites south of Agadir. Nid d'Aigle

Aguergour
The Aguergour site (600m elevation gain) is located 40 km south of Marrakech. Known for its generous thermals, it allows for long flights at the site or for going cross-country. There are numerous shuttles that go to the takeoff area throughout the day
This paragliding site in Morocco, located at an altitude of 1320 meters with a height difference of 520 meters, is a popular spot with good infrastructure and an easy, spacious launch area. It's frequently flyable, making it a favored destination for many pilots. However, avoid driving up with your own car due to a barrier and private land restrictions; a 4x4 vehicle is required, and there's a fee for access. The region is known for its soaring conditions with thermals, although they can be inconsistent and sometimes strong. Cross-country (XC) flying is possible, but it's often advisable to take a midday break and resume flying in the evening after 17:00 when the winds and thermals calm down. There's a pleasant lake about a 15-minute drive from the landing zone where you can relax during the break (note: no bathing allowed). The launch zone is well-prepared and offers facilities such as a tea spot and restrooms. The orientation for take-off is East-Northeast-North. Aguergour is a bustling site, often compared to Saint Hilaire in France, with many pilots launching simultaneously. There's even a bar at the launch site.
Alternatively, head to the landing place first, where you can often get a lift. The landing area is a large, flat field at around 400 meters altitude. To get there from Marrakesh, take the Taroudant road for up to 10 km, then follow signs for 'Amizmiz' and 'Barrage Lalla Takerkoust'. After 30 km, just before the bridge, take the road to Aguergour (not signposted). After 10 km, you'll reach a fork in the road, which is the landing field. Take the left road to the take-off. Be cautious if the track is wet. In summer, be aware of potential dust devils. For accommodations, contact Ahmed, a young pilot with a hotel at the landing place. The hotel offers affordable rates with good food and amenities.

The landing area ranges from sea level on the beach to 100 meters. You can land anywhere along the coast, but be cautious of the tides when landing on the beach.
To get there, start from Tisnit and follow the signs to Aglou Plage. Just before reaching Aglou Plage, turn right and follow the track, which is located just before the camping area.
The site features a very large beach with small sand hills, creating a picturesque and serene environment. However, it is important to note that this area is a bird protection zone, and paragliding is officially prohibited year-round, although it is tolerated. Please respect the regulations and behave accordingly.

Nid d'Aigle Auberge
Located in Morocco, this paragliding site offers a mix of soaring and thermal flying, with some flights reaching heights over 1000 meters. The site is frequented by many pilots and is known for its excellent soaring conditions.
There are two official take-off points: "Nid d'Aigle," managed by a Frenchman, and another nearby site managed by an Englishman named Nigel. "Nid d'Aigle" features a concrete take-off area and accommodations, while Nigel's site has gravel-covered take-off areas and caravans. Both take-offs require a fee of approximately 20 Dh for a day. Due to the abundance of cacti in the region, finding alternative take-off spots is nearly impossible.
For landing, it's crucial to inquire about the appropriate landing zones before taking off, as they can vary by season. The primary landing area is at an altitude of 60 meters along the road to TO. Avoid landing in planted fields to prevent jeopardizing the site; there are plenty of barren fields available for landing. Top-landing is also possible.
To reach the site, travel from Tiznit to Aglou Plage. In Aglou, turn left towards Mirleft. About 10 km after Aglou Plage, you'll find a gravel road on your left winding up the hill, where you can see Francois's house. Follow the sign for "Take-off/decollage" and go straight to reach Francois/Nid d'Aigle.
Nid d'Aigle offers rooms with panoramic ocean views, a take-off point just 2 meters from your room, and an onsite restaurant serving Moroccan cuisine. It's an excellent choice for those seeking a pleasant atmosphere and good food at reasonable prices.
Be cautious of south and north winds, as they can pose weather hazards. For more information, you can contact Francois or Siham.

Nigel's Place
Height: 240 meters, Length: 18,000 meters
This site in Morocco is frequently visited and offers excellent soaring conditions with some thermal flying opportunities. Pilots can achieve significant heights, up to 1000 meters. The site record is 16.7 km.
You can take off from two official sites: "Le Nid d'Aigle," managed by a Frenchman, and another nearby site managed by an Englishman named Nigel. "Le Nid d'Aigle" features a concrete launch area and accommodations, while Nigel's site has gravel-covered take-off areas and caravans. Both take-offs require a fee of approximately 20 Dh for a day. Finding alternative take-off spots is nearly impossible due to the abundance of cacti in the region.
For landing, it's essential to ask for advice before taking off, as landing spots can vary by season. Generally, you can land on the left next to the track up. Avoid landing in planted fields to maintain good relations with local landowners; there are plenty of barren fields available for landing.
The site is located 15 minutes south of Aglou, next to "Le Nid d'Aigle." Nigel, who owns one of the take-off areas, is known to be friendly but be aware that there are no facilities such as toilets, drinks, or food available on-site.
Weather conditions can be hazardous if the wind is too far south or north. The site can become katabatic as the sun sets, and it can also get thermic, allowing for inland flights. Be cautious of potential sink areas over the cacti near the take-off.
Flight regulations are somewhat lax, as Nigel allows schools and pilots who are not permitted to fly at "Le Nid d'Aigle" to use his site. This has resulted in several accidents, including a fatality. There have also been incidents of pilots missing top landings and causing injuries to tourists.

Ait-Ourir
Located on the road to Ouarzazate, about 40 km southeast of Marrakech, this site features a stunning 7 km long ridge facing north and northwest. It offers both soaring and thermal flights, with the possibility of cross-country flying. Pilots can enjoy flights overlooking the Marrakech valley and picturesque villages that blend with the red earth, with the majestic Atlas Mountains as a backdrop.
The launch areas, some of which are technical, are situated at the southwestern end of the ridge at the end of the road. Park your vehicle at the foot of the ruins. The 15-minute hike to the launch is not difficult, but if you prefer, you can ask one of the local children to carry your bag. However, do not give more than 10 Dh to avoid creating a lucrative market that could disrupt the tranquility. If asked for more, carry your own gear with a smile!
Be aware that due to the high traffic at this site, it is now necessary to give a small tip to the local children to watch your vehicle, otherwise, there is a risk of it being stoned. Assess the situation on-site accordingly.
Takeoff can be done anywhere along the very long crest. Landing is also flexible, in front of the crest, wherever you find suitable.

Legzira Beach Bou Larif
Located in Morocco, this paragliding site offers a stunning coastal experience with a takeoff elevation of 338 meters. The site is frequently used and small cross-country flights are possible. The orientation is primarily southwest, northwest, and west.
This coastal site provides hours of soaring along the hills when the sea breeze is favorable. Access to the site is via a track on the left, taken further south after the second white house. Landing options include the plateau or the beach near the hotel. Soaring along the stone arch in ideal conditions is a memorable experience.
The hotel on the beach is an excellent choice for a pleasant overnight stay with a sea view. For landing, you have two options: on the top of the village called Legzira Beach, just to the right of the track before the camper parking, or directly on the beach. Many visitors consider this the most beautiful beach in Morocco.
To reach this site, from Tiznit, take the road to Aglou Beach, then head south towards Mirleft. Pass the village of Mirleft, which offers good spots for lunch and accommodation, and continue directly to Legzira Beach.
Weather hazards include the usual thermal-dynamic conditions near the water, and it is advised not to fly over the crest. Toplanding can be hazardous due to numerous cacti.
For accommodation and dining, options are available in Mirleft or Legzira Beach village, or you can stay in a camper on the top of the village. Sidi-Ifni, a larger town about 25 km south, offers more amenities.
The typical market in Tiznit is held every Wednesday morning, offering affordable tajine plates, fruits, and vegetables. Mirleft's main road is lined with markets selling various goods, including fruits, bread, fishing materials, hotels, and restaurants.
For money and market needs, Sidi-Ifni is the place to go. The road from Sidi-Ifni to Mesti is known for its cactus flowers and salad area, although it is not flyable due to the cacti. Mesti is also known for its production of the rare Argan oil, made exclusively by women.
Takeoff is easy in the west direction, but the wind tends to pick up after 3 PM. When the wind is northerly, soaring over the arch is possible.

Tifnit 2
Tifnit, located in Morocco, offers a coastal soaring experience south of Agadir. The launch height is 20 meters, and the flight distance can extend beyond 20 kilometers, providing a very long and enjoyable flight.
There are numerous spots to lay out your wing and take off. You can land either at the starting point or on the beach, depending on the tides. If you descend too quickly, landing on the beach is an option, but be mindful of the tidal conditions.

Sidi Ifni Les Antennes
The takeoff is located next to an antenna overlooking the city. For landing, it's straightforward—use the airfield. Before flying, make sure to inform the authorities at the end of the airfield.
Landing is primarily at the bottom on the airfield, which is visible from takeoff. Only very experienced pilots should attempt top landings.
To get there, there's a single track up the hill starting from behind the houses at the base of the hill near the airfield in Sidi Ifni. Only 4x4 vehicles can navigate this track, which goes up and then weaves around the back.
Be cautious of the high power lines at the end of the ridge. Avoid getting blown back to prevent serious rotor; top landings should only be attempted by instructors or experts.
The takeoff offers high altitude with smooth soaring in the coastal air during morning or evening winds, but it becomes gently thermic in the middle of the day.

Experience coastal soaring along kilometers of sandy cliffs. There is no specific takeoff point; it depends on the wind and your preferences. This is a park, so please be courteous to any park rangers who might (rarely) cause issues. Be cautious of potential impostor rangers as well. If you don't have a 4x4 vehicle, be aware that you can quickly get stuck in the sand. The most navigable track is usually the one closest to the seafront. And don't forget your sunscreen!

West orientation.
This is a superb site, a prime spot for surfers. Flights are typically conducted with sea breeze conditions. Be cautious of the north wind, which can quickly become dangerous and may force you to make an emergency landing in the water or on the rocks.
The cliff launch is located at the edge of the new road near the parking area, which also serves as a viewpoint. There is another larger and flatter launch site about a hundred meters to the left of the main launch.
Landing is on the beaches as close as possible to the village of Imsouan, depending on the tide. For the return walk to the village, there is a path along the cliffs. The plateau behind the village is also a possible landing area, but be mindful of the power lines. Be cautious of the tide if you land far from the village; returning through the rocks can be very perilous, especially at night.
In case of problems (beaches covered by the tide or incoming north wind), it is possible to land on a large beach south of the cliffs. This beach is always exposed and easy to land on, but the return can be long... very long! There is a track leading there, but it is impassable. A shuttle can pick you up at the top of a hill, but you will first need to walk 30 to 45 minutes to climb back up the wadi. You can have your bag carried by a mule (around 20Dh per bag) and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
For accommodation, the Tasra Inn is a good option. For grilled fish, a visit to the port is a must.
