Infos: Small, sandy beach with some rocks.

Weather specificities: Hot temperatures. No wetsuits all year-round, can get up to 50C in summer and in winter stable at around 18-20C.

Wind specificities: Variable wind, sometimes very strong wind. Wind works from all directions as it is a very safe spot to surf in, a bit like a lagoon. Wind blows from November through to June. Best Months February to April when you get anything from 10-40 knots of wind during the Shamals. June is consistent 13-20 knots of wind.

Access description: by Car - Drive North from Doha. You have to drive a while on a trail that is only manageable by 4X4 for about 30 minutes.

Extra: Going upwind is a must here unless you want a long downwinder to the beginning of the spit.

Furwerit Beach

Infos: Low tide exposes coral heads as far out as 300 meter. Only kite at high tide! A small lagoon exists and can be a great place to kite at high tides. South end of lagoon has a rock jetty so be aware of your surrounds. If you have a hard time staying up wind wear booties. Coral and sea urchins are very thick in some areas. Watch out for other novice kiters as this spot is notorious for idiots.

Beach type & size: Sand - Medium

Infos: Fuwerit is a 2.5k long beach. Motorist Speed on beach with ATVS. Do not leave your lines out. The other side of the lagoon has a kite resort.

Weather specificities: Season starts in September when air and water become tolerable. Season end in June when the heat is not tolerable. Shorty is needed October, November, March and April. Full 3mm is needed in December to February.

Wind type: Thermal, Frontal

Wind specificities: Almost all the spots in Qatar work best with the prevailing NW wind. It usually comes in 3-4 day bursts. Then it will turn off or become stormy SE for 3-4 days then back to NW. May and June however bring continues strong NW. SE winds can be very smooth wind, but they are less frequent.

Access description: by Car - 95 km North of Doha on the Shamal road. Take the Fuwerit exit. Head East 3 km. Turn North and drive around Village on well established dirt road. Most kiters drive to far south end of the beach to kite on the lagoon of Gulf side.

Extra: South end of beach is closed to motorist April to June for turtle nesting.

Nightlife: Bring your own fun and camp at the beach. It is very common camping area so don't expect peace and quiet on the weekends. Set tents near cars and define your camp, as to reduce the chances of reckless ATV riders driving through your camp.

Sealine Beach

Beach type & size: Sand - Medium

Infos: Rocks on north side of the beach but beautiful soft sand for approximately 600 yards along the Sealine beach front. There are some tables set up that can interfere with launching, but overall very nice.

Weather specificities: Very hot. 115F average during summer months along with hot water. Comfortable during spring, fall and winter months.

Wind specificities: Usually gusting up to 15-20 kts from northerly direction during afternoon hours.

Access description: by Car - Head south from Doha approx 15 minutes and hang a left on road prior to Al Udied towards Mesaieed. Travel 30 min or so east, turn right at the Y and head towards Sealine Resort. 30 Reals (just under 10 US dollars) to enter the resort. Sealine Beach Resort is located 55 km (45min) from Doha airport near at the gateway to the desert and inland sea.
