Infos: The beach can be quite narrow at high tide, and over 150m wide at low tide. Beware for broken glass on the sand. A pair of booties is advisable.

Wind specificities: Best kiting season is during our SE trade wind season. We get consistent 15-25kt winds for about 5 months of the year. Usual kite size is between 7m-10m with the occasional light wind day.

Access description: by Car - You have to have a car or catch a lift with someone that has a car as there is no public transport.
Extra: Be prepared to be self sufficient and bring everything that you think you'll need with regards to kiting stuff. Other sporting and camping stuff can be found at department stores.
Nightlife: None at the beach, but there are plenty of niteclubs and restaurants in Port Moresby. We have a cinema and a shopping mall too.

Infos: Close to the beach flat to choppy water. Smaller waves on the reef about 1km out. About 5km from shore nice waves on the outer reef.

Wind type: Trade
Wind specificities: There are only two seasons. They are determined by the direction of the wind. Southeasterly wind season and the Northwesterly wind season. The SE wind season brings the best winds. The wind is sheltered by a hill called Pyramid Hill during the SE wind season so launching from the beach can be tricky. Best way is to walk with your kite about 20m out and launch from the water when a gust passes through. Then head out to deeper water quickly. Once clear of the hill, you will get solid cross onshore wind.

Access description: by Car - A car can be used to drive the majority of the way to Sero beach, however you really need a 4x4 for the last 500m as the dirt road is heavily potholed, and usually flooded in spots.
Specific rules: Fees
Extra: There is a family that owns the Sero surf riders club and charge a fee of 5 Kina per vehicle to park in their land and use of their beach. They are very friendly and are used to surfers, kite boarders and windsurfers. The land you park on belongs to them and have the right to charge you a small fee to allow us access to the beach. Please be responsible and pay and be friendly with the owners.
