If your car is higher, park before it goes uphill to the left. But not really allowed.

Wind specificities: Go to the spot when to wind comes from about East, perfect is SSE. From East the wind is constant. The more southern the wind comes, the gustier the wind. SSW great for speed, but offshore.
Access description: by Car - Drive the A7 North and then A215 to Kiel. Follow the directions to the Olympiazentrum Schilksee, pass the big bridge and go right before Schilksee. Then just drive to the Falkensteiner Strand, lots of parking spaces.

Extra: In spring and autumn you can use the whole beach (very long) because of not having a restricted area for tourists. In summer you need to start your kite at the surf school, most of the time there are no problems to kitesurf, just take care like you do it on every other spot.

Access description: by Car - Drive from Kiel to Laboe on the B502. The spot is at a big monument (it looks like a big tower, you will find it) next to a submarine on land. For a parking space you need to pay about 2 Euro.

Extra: In summer it is a small area to start and land your kite, so be careful. In summer time it can get very crowded. Facing the water looking to the open sea there are two obstacles in the water,just under the water surface. Keep it in mind when jumping and ask locals for the exact position. There is a nature reserve between the dog beach and Aukrog. Watch out for the signs. Its is strictly forbidden to kite there, especially on the small lagoon, and also no launching and landing, even not laying kites on the beach.

Access description: by Car - After you reached the Island Fehmarn you follow the signs to "Puttgarden". Before you reached the end of the road and are almost on the ferry you turn left, where you see a big hotel, to Puttgarden. Drive through Puttgarden and when you reached the end of Puttgarden you see a sign with "Gruener Brink Badestrand", turn right here. After about 1km you have to turn right when you see the sign "Gruener Brink". This road will lead you to the water, in front of the dam turn right and follow that small road along the dam to the last parking lot. Park here (free).

Extra: Warning: to the west is a national park in the water! It is absolutely forbidden to kite there. There are warning signs in the water and on the beach and even the extension from these two signs is the border. Please make sure you don't pass them. Don't kite in the swimming zone, the beach guards will fine you. It is not recommended to launch/land your kite on the dam, too dangerous. Do it on the beach. The kitebeach is to the right. The parking lot is for free. It is forbidden to stay overnight with vans and buses. In summer due to many algae it can stink. Then watch your lines not to get algae in.

Infos: This is a wave spot. There is also a lake where windsurf beginners go. But the spot at the sea is for kiters from upper intermediate level to pro level. The waves can get very high! A small footbridge and a slide are in the water. Kiting only in the marked kite zone. Great wave in NW winds on the west side which turn around the corner for clean waves. Here the windsurfers ride. Current with stronger NW and W wind. Best waves with NW.
Beach type & size: Sand - Big
Infos: The beach is big with soft sand and good for launching your kite. Take care you are far away enough from some obstacles. About 400m to the East are houses close to the beach and wave breakers. Go to shore with enough distance. Some obstacles at the beach. Windsurfers ride further west, smaller beach, but parking just behind the dune with less distance to the water.

Weather specificities: A wetsuit is necessary nearly all over the year. The water is between 5-20C (spring to summer), air temperature is in the average 18C (in summer) and can go up to 30C. If you have the adequate wetsuit you can surf from April to November. Off-season is possible but very cold.

Wind specificities: The average wind is from 9-14 knots. NW is the best direction and offers great waves. The more West in the wind, the gustier the it gets.

Access description: by Car - Follow the road `B207`. Leave the road at the sign `Heiligenhafen`. Follow the street until you are right in front of the water. Turn right, after ca. 300 meters turn left into a small road with water right and left to it. After another 500 meters you see a sign for the parking lot. Take the first parking lot to the right and drive to the water. The parking lot is huge and for free. Windsurfers take the parking lots further down the street.
Specific rules: Zones
Extra: Specially marked kite zone (oestlicher Steinwarder). Do not kite in the swimmers zone, which is almost everywhere. Better to avoid this beach in season while the buoys are out. For beginners it is strongly recommended not to use this spot but to use the spots at the island Fehmarn (Gold etc.). Windsurfer go further west where the beach is smaller but parking just behind the trees and beach.
