Surf Peanuts

Peanuts - Matanzas Inlet, Florida Peanuts is a left-point break characterized by hollow, fast, and fun waves over a sandy bottom with rocks. Located on the north side of Matanzas Inlet, access is straightforward: park at the boardwalk just after the bridge and walk south to the point. The spot works best at mid tide during falling tide conditions. This unique surf location is known for its shifting sands and varied wave conditions, influenced by the absence of jetties. While the crowd is typically sparse, be mindful of local marine life and strong currents. The best surf occurs from fall through spring, particularly during hurricane swells, offering long rides when conditions align. Surfers should check from the bridge for optimal sides and be prepared for a good amount of paddling on larger days, while smaller swells provide a more manageable experience.
