Description
Panic Point - Rhode Island
Panic Point features a left-point break over a boulder-strewn bottom, offering ordinary to fun waves that are more suitable for longboarding. The spot works best at mid to high tide with rising and falling tides, and is accessible within a 5-minute walk from the nearest road.
While this spot is often overlooked, it can provide some of the cleanest and longest rides when conditions align, particularly during a significant southeast swell. The atmosphere is relaxed, but caution is advised due to the underwater boulders and potential currents. Parking is limited to 30 minutes along the road, and the area tends to be empty during the week, with only a few surfers on weekends. Be mindful of localism and always check the conditions before heading out.
