Description
Palya de Garcey - Fuerteventura, Spain
Palya de Garcey features fast, powerful waves breaking over a reef with a rocky bottom. The spot offers both right and left-hand waves, making it suitable for various skill levels. It works at all tides, with optimal conditions from swells coming from the North, Northwest, and Southwest, and winds from the South, Southeast, and East.
Accessing this remote beach requires a 30-45 minute drive along a rough dirt road, best suited for 4WD vehicles. Once you arrive, a long walk down a rocky path leads to the stunning bay, where the remains of the SS America wreck can be seen. While the area is generally uncrowded, caution is advised due to strong currents and sharp rocks near the wreck. For a safer experience, surfers should stay north of the wreck, where solid waves and breathtaking views await. Be mindful of local campers, especially during peak season from July to September.
