Description
Kianga - Narooma
Kianga is a right-hand point break with a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. This wave is known for its good barreling conditions, capable of holding up to 1.8 meters (6 feet). It works at all tides, making it a reliable choice for surfers, although larger swells can lead to being caught inside by wide sets.
Located along the southern New South Wales coast, Kianga is part of the Narooma surf scene, which includes other spots like the Breakwall and Bar Beach. While it offers a few waves for varying skill levels, it is not considered a world-class destination. Surfers should remain vigilant for rips and the occasional shark presence in the area. Access is straightforward, with instant entry from the main road, making it a convenient spot for both locals and visitors. Expect fewer surfers during the week, but weekends can be ultra crowded.
