Surf Keokea beach park

Keokea Beach Park - North Kohala Keokea Beach Park features powerful right-breaking waves over a rocky reef bottom, characterized by coral and sharp rocks. The spot is known for its fast wave conditions and is accessible via a short walk from the parking area. Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, this surf spot is reached by taking Highway 270 north, then west past Hawi and Kapa'au, turning left at Mile Marker #27. It works well at all tides, with rising and falling tide movements. The area typically sees few surfers on weekends and is mostly empty during the week, making it ideal for those seeking less crowded conditions. However, caution is advised due to the presence of rocks in the lineup. Paddle around the current for the best take-off, and aim for the pocket for optimal rides.
