Surf Elands Bay

Elands Bay (The Point) - South Africa Elands Bay features a left-breaking reef wave over a rocky bottom, known for its hollow, fast, and powerful characteristics. The wave can reach up to 150 meters in length and works best at mid to high tide with a solid southwest swell of 2.4 meters or more. The break is accessible within a 5-minute walk from the main campsite. This small hamlet offers a unique surfing experience with consistent conditions, particularly at The Point. The waves wrap around a kelp-covered reef, creating steep drops and fun tubes when the swell aligns. While the spot can get crowded, especially on weekends with kites and longboards, there are also reliable beach breaks to the north and rights on a nearby reef for variety. Accessing the break involves parking in town and navigating some rocky terrain, so be prepared for tricky entries and exits depending on the tide.
