Access is primarily by boat from Hout Bay, with a short walk of 5-15 minutes to the peak. Renowned for its intense conditions, Dungeons is not for the faint-hearted and is considered one of the premier big wave surf locations globally. The spot hosts the Big Wave Africa competition and is part of the Big Wave World Tour, attracting only the most skilled surfers. While the waves can be epic on good days, they are often inconsistent.
