Surf Caplina

Caplina - La Herradura, Peru Caplina is a powerful point break featuring hollow, fast, and ledgey waves that break both right and left over flat rocks and sand. The spot is known for its heavy lip, breaking over a sunken boat, which adds an element of danger due to unknown underwater hazards. It works best at low and mid tide during falling tide conditions. Access is straightforward; walk 100 meters north from La Herradura to reach the peak near Salto del Fraile. The atmosphere is intense, attracting only the bravest surfers, as the conditions demand excellent physical and mental preparation. The crowd is typically sparse during the week and weekends, allowing for an uncrowded experience. However, be cautious of rips, undertow, and rocky areas, as well as potential pollution in the water.
