Surf Cape Lookout

Cape Lookout (Boy Scout Camp) - Oregon Cape Lookout features right-breaking waves over a rocky reef with a bottom of flat rocks. The surf is known for its hollow, powerful, and fun characteristics, working best at low and mid tides with rising and falling tides. Access requires a long walk (over 30 minutes) from the parking lot at Cape Lookout State Park. The journey to Cape Lookout is a scenic 5 km hike, rewarding surfers with a unique experience at one of the longest capes on the West Coast. While the surf can be unpredictable, the south side offers a mellow vibe reminiscent of Palos Verdes Cove. Be cautious of your gear, as local surfers may be less welcoming to newcomers. Ensure you are prepared for the strenuous return hike, as the climb can be challenging after a day in the water.
