Surf Buarcos

Buarcos - North of Figueira da Foz Buarcos features a right-point break over flat rocks with sand, delivering fast waves suitable for various skill levels. The spot works at all tides and is accessible within a five-minute walk. Wind from the north, northwest, west, east, and northeast enhances the surf conditions, while swells from the north, northwest, and west are ideal. Located just north of Figueira da Foz, Buarcos offers multiple breaks, including Tamagueira, a hollow right, and Teimoso, a long right point. The area is characterized by a mix of reef and sand-covered rocks, providing diverse wave options. Despite being popular, the long paddles help distribute surfers, maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. The best surf typically occurs from December to February, attracting a competitive yet respectful local surf community. Be mindful of rips and undertow, especially during winter swells.
