Surf Bronze Beach

Bronze Beach - Umhlanga, South Africa Bronze Beach features a reef break with both right and left waves, characterized by a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. The wave is known for being hollow, fast, and powerful, making it fun for experienced surfers. It works well at all tides, particularly under small swells and light land breezes. Located 500 meters up the beach from Umhlanga Main Beach, access involves a short walk of 5-15 minutes. While the atmosphere is generally quieter with few surfers during the week and weekends, caution is advised due to potential dangers such as rips, undertow, and rocks. The beach is still recovering from storms that impacted it in 2006, resulting in a shifty peak that can be fun for bodyboarders. For better waves, surfers are encouraged to explore spots further north or head to Durban Town center.
