Surf Blowhole

Blowhole - Saint Augustine, Florida Blowhole features a sandbar wave that breaks both right and left over a sandy bottom. It works best at low and mid tide with rising and falling tides. Access is via a short walk (5-15 minutes) from the Anastasia State Recreation Area, where public access is available. Located about half a mile north of the beach-access ramp, Blowhole was once a prime surf spot but has diminished in quality due to dredging. It tends to produce larger waves compared to nearby breaks, making it appealing for surfers seeking more action. Be cautious of submerged tree stumps in the area, and expect a crowd if conditions are favorable. Vehicles are prohibited on the sand, so prepare for a trek to reach the surf.
