Surf Bellows

Bellows - Waimanalo, Hawaii Bellows features a sandbar wave that breaks both right and left, with a sandy bottom. The waves are generally powerless, making it an ideal spot for beginners to practice paddling and duck diving. Access is straightforward, with public entry available on weekends to the Bellows Air Force Base, and a short walk of less than 5 minutes to the beach. While the waves may be small, Bellows is a popular location, especially on weekends when it becomes crowded with beachgoers. The area is safe for novice surfers, as it lacks hazardous coral and rocks. However, caution is advised due to potential rips and undertow. The spot works well at all tides, with optimal conditions arising from a rising tide and swells coming from the south, southeast, east, and northeast. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, but be mindful of the private beach areas and the presence of families and campers nearby.
