Surf Barranco

Barranco - Algarve, Portugal Barranco is a point break featuring both right and left waves, with a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. The spot is accessible via a short walk (less than 5 minutes) and is suitable for four-wheel drive vehicles. It works best at mid tide with rising and falling tides, and is ideal when the swell comes from the South, SouthWest, or SouthEast, complemented by winds from the North, NorthWest, or NorthEast. Nestled two beaches away from Zavial, Barranco is somewhat challenging to locate, offering a secluded surfing experience. During the week, the spot remains largely empty, while weekends attract only a few surfers. However, be mindful of localism, as it can be a concern here. The waves are described as fun, making it a great choice for surfers looking to enjoy a less crowded environment while still experiencing quality surf.
