Description
This is not an official launch site and is very sensitive. Do not fly here without consulting with local pilots. The Thun area is extensive, and if everyone flew here indiscriminately, it would be immediately closed off.

Just outside the 5 km radius of Thun airfield. The VLK mandates a minimum distance of 5 km for paragliders and hang gliders.
The terrain is challenging with many telephone lines and no easy landing options within glide range.
Both launch sites are either directly within or on the edge of Thun's airfield zone. Legally, launching is not permitted but is tolerated due to the relatively small size of the area. The launch sites are on farmland, and the two farmers currently tolerate the activity, but there are no formal agreements in place.
The terrain is difficult and not suitable for beginners. Below Haltenegg, there is only a small football field between houses for landing. At Winteregg, you might have to land on the slope again as the glide angle may not be sufficient.
