During the consistent east wind conditions, which occur more often in summer and winter, we have had several good flying days in a row here. Despite the small height difference, thermal connections are often achieved, allowing for significant altitude gains. A notable feature is the Ummerstadter evening wind. Time and again, after the wind seems to have died down and pessimists have left, a relatively strong and smooth breeze picks up, providing excellent evening soaring conditions. It doesn't happen every time, but those who have experienced playing above the forest edges until dusk will likely be among those waiting for it next time.
