Description
Tapawera is a lesser-known paragliding site with an elevation of 502 meters. It is more commonly used for hang gliding rather than paragliding, and soaring conditions are typical here.
Access to the site is via a forestry road, which may be restricted during weekdays due to logging activities. To enter, vehicles must be registered with the forest leaseholder and equipped with a shovel and fire extinguisher.
