Description
The launch site at Steckweiler, Germany, has an elevation of 315 meters and a height difference of 140 meters. It is regularly used for soaring, and cross-country flights are possible. Top landing is also feasible. However, flying is only permitted from July 1st to March 31st and exclusively for club members.
The Stolzenberg site has been in use since 1977. Due to its location within a nature reserve, there are several regulations to follow, such as no flying between April 1st and June 30th each year. Only members of the local clubs (1. Pfälzer Drachenfliegerclub, 1. Morgenbachtaler GS Club, Pfälzer Gleitschirmclub e.V.) are allowed to use the site.
This is a B-license site managed by the Stolzenberg community. Environmental protection regulations must be observed, including a ban on flying from April 1st to June 30th due to the breeding season. There is a model aircraft field to the left of the launch site, and during simultaneous operations, the left slope area must be avoided. Only three pilots are allowed to fly at the same time.
