Paragliding Stilo Monte Stella 2

This launch site is rarely used due to the lack of pilots in the region. However, it is an excellent area for thermal flights, especially when the Scirocco (SE) wind is not too strong. The takeoff is located just below the first hairpin turn after the pass. Experienced pilots will be able to find a suitable spot for launching. Visiting this beautiful mountainous area, close to the almost tourist-free Ionian Sea with its miles of deserted beaches, is definitely worthwhile, especially when conditions on the west side are poor. In addition to the grotto chapel slightly below the launch site, the Byzantine church in Stilo is absolutely worth seeing. Directions: From Ristorante la Guercia, drive on SS106 (Ionica) to Monasterace Marina, then turn onto SS110 towards Stilo. Continue through Stilo to Pazzano and then turn towards Santuario S.
