This site, located in the USA, is rarely used and primarily suited for thermal soaring. The launch altitude is 1588 meters with a height difference of 40 meters. The launch area is shallow and faces northwest, with some potential obstacles like trees. However, the west-northwest and west directions are open and free from trees, making them more favorable for launching.
To reach this site, take a right on Road 23 just after descending Horse Ridge into the Millican Valley on Highway 20. Drive south until you spot the feature, then take a left onto a secondary road and navigate into the basin below the bowl. From there, hike up to your desired launch height. You can land back at your car.
This site works well with west and southwest wind flows, with the ideal wind direction being between 250 and 290 degrees. Be cautious of significant venturi effects, as the hill tends to funnel the wind, which can create strong gusts.
