Description
Altitude: 1200-1300 meters. Suitable for beginners. Frequently used, though it may not be officially recognized (ask locals). Dynamic and thermal soaring, as well as cross-country flying, are possible. Multiple launch options. Excellent ridge soaring with east wind in the valley.
Region: Sillian, Austria. Site record: 100.1 km.
Access by car. Suitable for paragliders and hang gliders. Approved training site.
Location: Northwest of the valley station. Follow the road to the church in Sillian, then continue until the next right turn. Park near the last houses. It's a 3-minute walk to the launch site below the path.
Launch site: Grass field. Park near the last houses or better yet, bring the car back down as parking space is limited.
Important: Do not fly too far left into the Villgraten Valley. Avoid launching in strong south winds.
