Description
Parangtritis, Indonesia offers a medium-difficult coastal soaring experience with an altitude difference of approximately 200 meters and a flight distance of 2,000 meters. The site is known for its wild and impressive scenery, featuring the dramatic waves of the South Sea crashing against steep rock slopes. When the wind conditions are favorable, flying over these slopes and waves is particularly enchanting.
The take-off location is Parang Endog, situated 200 meters above sea level. The landing zone is also at Parang Endog, just 2 meters above sea level. The slope direction is primarily West to East, with the best conditions typically from the West-Southwest.
The flying season runs from November to February. Due to the narrow and steep nature of the take-off area, which ends with a vertical wall about 100 feet high, beginners should exercise extreme caution.
Transportation to the take-off site is accessible by private car. For more information, you can contact the Merapi In Yogyakarta Club at 0274-625772.
