Description
Located in Italy, this paragliding site at an altitude of 975 meters with a height difference of 784 meters is occasionally used. It offers soaring and cross-country (XC) flying opportunities. However, during summer, the takeoff is often closed due to high grass and agricultural use.
There are no official landing zones, and the area is dominated by vine cultivation, so pilots need to be cautious. Additionally, attention must be paid to airspace regulations, as this site is an important XC reference point (thermal spot), though it is less frequently used as a normal takeoff nowadays.

When driving to the upper takeoff, it is easy to find. Note that the takeoff area is mostly closed in summer, and there are signs indicating this. Parking is available next to the road.
Monte Barbari offers an excellent flying terrain and serves as an alternative to Bassano. You can drive up to the takeoff, which faces south, southwest, and southeast. It is an ideal starting point for cross-country flights in both eastern and western directions along the Venetian Alps. Be sure to comply with the regulations concerning the Aviano CTR.
Please check for any flight restrictions before planning your trip. There is a military airport (Aviano) nearby to the east. Typically, flights to the east are allowed on weekends but restricted during the week.
