Paragliding Medovo Медово: СИ

Located in the Burgas region of Bulgaria, the Medovo paragliding site is a popular spot for both ridge soaring and cross-country (XC) flights. The launch site is situated on a northeast-facing slope that stretches approximately 7 km. It is conveniently located just 10 km from Sunny Beach and 3 km from the town of Kableshkovo. The elevation difference at the launch site is around 100 meters. The Medovo slope provides excellent conditions for soaring and occasionally good opportunities for XC flights. The launch area is steep and well-maintained, allowing for the setup of two wings simultaneously. In front of the slope, there are extensive fields that provide ample space for safe landings. To reach the launch site, head from Kableshkovo towards the village of Medovo. Take the first left past the initial farmhouses and continue along the dirt road leading to the base of the slope. From there, a shaded and gently sloping path will take you to the launch area. In September 2006, Veselin Ovcharov set a site record by flying 180 km from Medovo to Harmanli.
