Description
The take-off site at Piton Maïdo is situated at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level in the western region of Réunion, near St-Paul. Access to the Maido peak is well-marked from St Paul or St Gilles via the Route du Théâtre, with orange road signs guiding you to the summit. The site is located 1 km downstream from the summit. Park your vehicle just before exiting the forest and take the path on your left. After a 10-minute walk, you will reach the take-off area.
This location is suitable for walk & fly activities, though it is rarely used. Cross-country flights are possible from this site. The site record is 12.8 km.
