Description
At an altitude of 2180 meters, this paragliding site is considered medium-easy and is rarely used. It offers walk&fly opportunities and is suitable for soaring, with the possibility of small cross-country flights. In the afternoon, you can expect good thermals. While the standard take-off direction is West, it is also possible to take off towards the South, which could be an alternative to the more challenging launch site at the mountain station. From the mountain station to the summit cross, you should allow about 15 minutes of walking, heading southwest.

This site is a hidden gem located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, near the mountains around Gstaad. It offers high-altitude thermal and panoramic flights. Once you leave the basin, you can catch thermals or soar at the ridge of Pointe de Canéen. The west valley wind makes it relatively easy to reach the landing place in Rougemont, 5 km west of Saanen.
Please pay attention to the instructions at the start and landing sites, as well as the information boxes at the mountain railway stations regarding wildlife protection areas.
You can easily overcome almost 2000 meters of altitude difference with the cable car. The best flying conditions from 'Rocher Plat' and 'La Videman' are in the afternoon, with strong updrafts lasting until the evening, providing excellent soaring conditions.
