Description
The take-off site is located at an altitude of 586 meters with a height difference of 250 meters. This site is primarily used for hang gliding (HG) and is regularly frequented by enthusiasts. Cross-country flights are possible from this location.
Region: Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. The flight area record is 85.2 km.
The site is managed by Drachenflugclub Saar e. V. Note that the area is within a military training zone, so be mindful of military exercise times during the week.

**Directions to the Take-off Site:**
Exit the A62 motorway at Reichweiler (coming from Trier or Kaiserslautern). Turn right towards Reichweiler. Drive through Reichweiler towards Eckersweiler (approximately 5 km of scenic mountain road). At the mountain top intersection, turn right towards the visible telecommunications tower. Follow the road and after about 500 meters, take the next right. Drive towards the building complex and about 50 meters before the property, turn right onto the dirt road (signposted). This road leads directly to the setup area.
**From the Landing Site to the Take-off Site:**
Leave the landing site only in the direction of Pfeffelbach main street—never use the direct connection Pfeffelbach-Reichweiler. On the main street, turn right towards Oberkirchen, Schwarzerden, Autobahn. After about 3 km, pass under the motorway and then turn left immediately. Follow the road (long left curve) to the STOP sign. Turn left towards Reichweiler. Drive through Reichweiler towards Eckersweiler (approximately 5 km of scenic mountain road). At the mountain top intersection, turn right towards the visible telecommunications tower. Follow the road and after about 500 meters, take the next right. Drive towards the building complex and about 50 meters before the property, turn right onto the dirt road (signposted). This road leads directly to the setup area.
**Take-off Site:**
Setup area: Directly in front of the ramp. The setup area is large and flat, accommodating about 20 hang gliders.
Take-off altitude: 586 meters above sea level.

Type of take-off: Ramp start facing southeast (135 degrees)
Note: Always check the information board for current and general information and restrictions. The take-off site is within the ED-R 116 zone, and specific departure directions must be followed for cross-country flights. Paragliding is not allowed due to the terrain.
**Directions to the Landing Site:**
Exit the A62 motorway at Reichweiler (coming from Trier or Kaiserslautern). Turn left at the end of the exit. After about 100/150 meters, turn right. Follow the road (long right curve). After about 150 meters, turn right again towards Pfeffelbach, Thallichtenberg, Kusel. Follow the main road for about 3 km to Pfeffelbach. In Pfeffelbach, take the first left ('Ernteweg'). After about 50 meters, turn right ('Auf der Bitz') and then take the next left. You will see the windsock, and after about 50-100 meters, you will reach the landing site.
**Landing Sites:**
Altitude: Approximately 336 meters above sea level.
Coordinates: N49° 32' 37.3'' E7° 19' 14.1''
Windsock: At the main landing site, oriented east-southeast-south, with a landing triangle to the northeast.
Since 2002, an additional landing site towards Reichweiler is available, which is very large and suitable for landing directions from north to east.
Note: Do not shortcut through the residential area in Reichweiler when accessing the landing site.
