Description
The takeoff at 710 meters in Oppland, Norway, is occasionally used and offers good potential for cross-country flights. This site, known as 'Frya,' is considered one of the best takeoff points for paragliding cross-country flights in the area.
To reach 'Frodestupet,' the hike takes about 15-20 minutes with a paragliding backpack. Follow the signs for 'Kvasskampen' from the Frya (Hg Rampa) starting point. The trail is marked with red paint. After crossing the stream and climbing the subsequent steep hill, the path levels out before another, gentler slope begins. About 100 meters up this slope, the trail is covered with light-colored stones. At this point, leave the trail and head directly to the right. After a few hundred meters, you will reach the takeoff spot.
Please note that this is a cliff launch. The start is a natural one, so it is recommended not to set up or leave wind socks or fabric streamers. Instead, use something like toilet paper as a wind indicator.
