Access:
From Morschach, take the aerial cableway or from Schlattli, take the funicular to Stoos. From there, transfer to the aerial cableway leading to Fronalpstock. The launch site is a flat, hilly slope.
Conditions:
Fronalpstock is excellent in Bise conditions but has limited thermal activity. Never fly in Föhn conditions.
Flight:
Flights along the cliffs and towards Urmiberg near Brunnen (inspect the landing site first), Morschach, or for experienced pilots, towards Rütli and southwards, offer stunning views. Despite the cliffs, Fronalpstock is not known for reliable thermals, but it is excellent for soaring in Bise conditions.
Safety:
The launch sites are spacious, but good launch technique is essential due to the vertical cliffs. Weather and wind conditions can change rapidly; always monitor the sailboats for wind changes. Never fly in Föhn conditions, even with a Föhn tendency. Be aware of a 16kV power line near the launch and landing sites, which is hard to see in the evening. When flying back towards Morschach from Lake Lucerne, avoid flying too close to the forest due to an almost invisible power line from the village to Fronalpstock.
