Paragliding Förlenberg

Description
The launch site at Förlenberg, located above Annweiler in the Ranschbach region of Germany, is a medium-difficult paragliding spot with a height of 520 meters and a height difference of 230 meters. This site is popular for walk & fly, good soaring, and thermal flying, with possibilities for cross-country (XC) flights. However, it is important to note that this launch site does not appear to be officially recognized.
The launch area is situated in a forest clearing and faces northeast. Due to the angled airflow, side winds are common at the launch site, making takeoff challenging. As a result, guest pilots are not allowed to fly without a proper briefing. The Förlenberg has a reputation for being demanding, and even experienced pilots consider launching in pure east wind conditions to be very dangerous. Access to the site is only possible on foot.
Pilots unfamiliar with the site should be aware of its specific hazards, particularly the wind direction. Excessive east wind makes takeoff very difficult. The guest flight rules, which include mandatory briefings, are in place for safety reasons.
