Paragliding Coll de Rates North

Located in the province of Alicante, Valencia, the Parcent paragliding site offers a unique flying experience over the beautiful Jalon Valley. The takeoff altitude is 912 meters with a height difference of 620 meters. The launch area is small and can accommodate 1-2 gliders at a time. The terrain is typical of Spanish nature, being rocky and thorny. This site is occasionally used and is suitable for soaring and small cross-country flights. Experienced pilots can land back at the launch site, and flights to the sea are also possible. The best time to utilize the thermals is from late winter to early summer. Pilots can enjoy soaring flights or venture into the 'Serra de Serella' to the west and 'Serra del Ferrer'. There are ongoing discussions between local pilots and the town hall of Parcent to clean up and expand the landing field. The owner of the field is requesting payment for this, and two poles have already been cemented, with a possible chain to be added soon. Access to the takeoff area has been promised.
