Description
Located in the Duckabush River Valley, USA, this paragliding site has an elevation of 963 meters with a height difference of 960 meters. It is rarely used and primarily known for thermal soaring and small cross-country flights. The site record stands at 25.1 km.
Access has become challenging since Rayonier bought the land surrounding the Jupiter launch in 2020. In 2021, they restricted access to bikers, hikers, and vehicles unless a costly hunting permit is purchased. Due to this policy, flying at Jupiter is no longer feasible.
The Rainier Paragliding Club (RPC) is actively developing a new site in the Hamma Hamma Valley to replace the Jupiter mountain site. Experienced pilots are expected to evaluate the new Hamma Hamma site in the spring of 2022. Updates will be provided on the RPC website once the new launch site information is available.
