Paragliding Bastenberg

Located in Germany, the site is regularly used for local soaring with some thermal activity, especially in the late afternoon and only when the wind conditions are optimal. The site is managed by the Drachen-Gleitschirmflieger-Club Höxter e.V. and requires a proper briefing from a DGFC member before flying. The take-off is from a northwest-facing slope with a height difference of 90 meters. The slope is gentle and can only be flown when the wind direction is correct. The mountain becomes thermally active in the early afternoon, and despite its modest height difference, it can offer good flying conditions. Even on days with weak wind conditions, the site can provide favorable flying opportunities towards the evening. The landing fields are extensive and suitable for beginners, but top landing is much more enjoyable and easily achievable on typically good days.
