Description
At an elevation of 818 meters, this site is rarely used but offers a panoramic flight experience. There are fine open launch areas, either north or west of the sætra. This is a better alternative to Auflemsåsen, although it requires a 400-meter hike. Permission from the landowner might be needed to drive up to Auflemsåsen.
There should be good opportunities for ridge soaring in westerly winds (sea breeze). The landing zones are in Loen or Olden. Before flying, check for high-voltage power lines near the landing area.
