Description
Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert
Type: Ocean
Water type: Shallow, Flat, Chop, Small wave
Water quality: Clean
Infos: There are two spots: bay of Wulfener Hals and the seaside. In the bay there is perfectly flat water and a big shallow area. On the side of the sea, there is choppy water, sometimes small waves (like in Meeschendorf). During the season the bay is very crowded with windsurf beginners, because you can stand in the water in the whole bay. The seaside is deep water, so not recommended for beginners.
Beach type & size: Sand - Small
Infos: A small sandy beach creates a spit between the bay and the ocean. Closer to the camping side is a dam with stones.
Identified hazards: Stones
Beachgoer: July, August
Weather specificities: A wetsuit is necessary nearly all over the year. The water is between 5-20C (spring to summer), air temperature is in the average 18C (in summer) and can go up to 30C. If you have the adequate wetsuit you can surf from April to November. Off-season is possible but very cold.
