The sea is never really flat but sometimes choppy. Beach type & size: Sand - Tidal Infos: The beach is big and very clean with soft sand. At high tide there is no beach at all as the sea comes right up to a barrier of large rocks that have clearly been placed there to stop erosion. This makes launching and landing very dangerous. Also note that the gradient of the beach is very shallow so beware that if you arrive to find 100-200m of sand with the tide out, it comes in pretty quickly, do not leave kite bags, clothes, car keys or anything else on the beach as by the time you realize what's happening and kite back to the beach to rescue them, they could be under water. Identified hazards: Rocks Weather specificities: A wetsuit is needed all year round. Wind type: Frontal Wind specificities: The wind is not very strong but there is often wind at 15 knots. The wind is less strong than in Wissant. You can ride in NW, SW, N and S. Access description: by Car - Take the A16 and follow signs to Hardelot and then to Hardelot-Plage. Get to the beach and the kite club. Specific rules: Zones Extra: Special kite zone: at the right of the beach, when you are in front of the beach, you can't kite or do other sports since it is the swimmer's zone. In front of the club it's good for kiteboarder. To the left of the club it's for lessons and to the left of the lessons this zone is for beginners. Don't leave any garbage on the beach! Nightlife: There is one night club. Accommodations: Rescue, Shower, Toilet, Food
