Weather specificities: The air temperatures varies from 27-33C year around. Water temperatures around 28C. No wetsuit necessary but lycra and pant for sun protection, but a shorty sometimes at late afternoon or early mornings on "winter time". Very stable sunny weather conditions all year round.

Wind specificities: Nice wind in the mornings picking up during the day. At midday its blowing, at 15:00 its epic, at 17:00 its decreasing a bit. Gusty winds close to the beach, further out less gusty. Almost every day theres wind. Some months are 100% with more than 4Bf every day. Always sideshore from the left (East). Best time for kiting in El Yaque is from October to the end of July. During the months of February to May, wind can be very strong and a bit more gusty from midday on. Such days are perfect to explore some of the other spots around Margarita. From August to the end of September our wind gets often interrupted for one or more days by tropical depressions approaching the Caribbean. The windy days are then blessed with very constant wind but require generally bigger kites.

Access description: by Car - You can flight directly to Isla Margarita - Porlamar Airport. Or you can also fly to Caracas-Venezuela and there are many daily flights to Porlamar every hour. 45 minutes flight (around 60 USD). When you reach the Porlamar Airport you could also see the kites on the water from the plane on daytime. Its only 5 minutes taxi to El Yaque (around 5USD).

Extra: The most relaxed way of kiting: Take the shuttle (boat) to the kitebeach further upwind, start from there and sail outside in the swell or enjoy a nice long downwinder back to El Yaque. Here you can land right at the windward side of the beach in front of a kite center, the only place upwind from the windsurf area, and the only place where you can legally start and land your kites all day long. In the windsurf area, downwind from this center and in front of the hotels you are allowed to enjoy kiteboarding before 9:30am and after 5:30pm. This restriction is a rule all windsurf and kiteboarding clubs set up together in order to ensure safety for all beach and water users. Other spot with beautiful condition at 15 minutes boat distance like Coche Island or Cubagua Island.

Access description: by Car - From Porlamar airport take a taxi to El Yaque. The with a boat to El Coche (about 20 min), and then take a taxi to El Coco. El Coco beach is about 7 km from La Punta. Drive past Oasis Beach to the village of La Uva, then off road through sand canyons to the narrow beach with cliffs as background.

Access description: by Boat - Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiqueta then make the transition to the domestic area and take a flight to Valencia. From here you have different options but recommended is to rent a car, buy a map and ask in the same airport someone to mark you the way to Chichiriviche. Once you take the highway it's easy - from Valencia take the highway to Pto Cabello, then when you get to El Palito make a right to Tucacas and from there is straight all the way. You will pass Boca de Aroa then Tucacas and at about 20min you will see a sign to Chichiriviche follow the signs and you`ll be fine. Here you need to take a boat to the island.
