View spotSerra de Tacima, located in the state of Paraíba, Brazil, is a notable paragliding site with an altitude of 368 meters (1207.04 feet) and a vertical drop of 200 meters (656 feet). The takeoff zone is natural with a low inclination, making it accessible yet challenging due to strong and consistent thermal conditions. The site is approximately 132 km from João Pessoa, accessible via an asphalt road that ascends the mountain and passes by a nearby farm. The region is known for its strong thermals, ranging from 5 to 10 m/s, and abundant cloud formations with ceilings above 1000 meters, making it ideal for cross-country (XC) flights. The best flying season is from January to February. Landing is relatively easy with ample fields around the area. However, the strong thermal activity makes it less suitable for beginner pilots during peak thermal hours. The site lacks hotel infrastructure, and flights are conducted within the state of Rio Grande do Norte, despite the ramp being on the border of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte. The local record for paragliding is held by Karel Vejchodský with a distance of 239 km. For hang-gliding, the record is 310 km by Moicano-RJ, reaching Alto Santo in the state of Ceará. View spotVale do Ar in Corumbataí, São Paulo, Brazil, offers a paragliding site with an altitude of 820 meters and a vertical drop of 190 meters. The site is accessible via the Washington Luiz Highway (SP-310) at Km 193, heading towards Rio Claro - São Carlos. Turn onto the road towards Corumbataí and enter through Estrada dos Boiadeiros, which is private property. Access to the ramp is only permitted when accompanied by a member of the local flying club, AVOLPI (Associação de Voo Livre Paraíso de Iracemápolis). The launch area is fully grassed and can accommodate simultaneous takeoffs of 2 to 4 gliders. However, landing is somewhat challenging and not recommended for beginner pilots due to the extensive network of power lines in the rural properties, with only two designated landing spots available. Flying is possible year-round, and the site is conveniently located just 22 kilometers from Rio Claro, a city with around 200,000 inhabitants and good infrastructure. The site is also noted for its easy access, being only 1.5 kilometers from a dirt road. The main drawbacks include the steep ascent to the ramp, which requires a 4x4 vehicle or a hike, and the difficulty of retrieval due to the limited number of roads in the area.
