Surf Silkies

Silkies - South Africa Silkies is a right-breaking sandbar wave with a sandy bottom, known for its hollow, fast, and powerful characteristics. The spot is best when the swell comes from the SouthWest or SouthEast, particularly during mid to high tide with a rising tide. Located near a recognizable ice cream shop, Silkies is accessible via a short walk (5-15 minutes) from the nearest parking. The atmosphere is vibrant, especially when the SE wind is strong, creating ideal conditions for bodyboarding. Surfers can expect sick barrels and an insane lip perfect for rolls and aerial reverses. Despite its appeal, the crowd remains manageable throughout the week, making it a great spot for both beginners and experienced riders. However, caution is advised due to nearby rocks.
