It works best at low to mid-tide during rising and falling tides, with optimal conditions occurring under a north or northwest wind. Located at the entrance of Santa Barbara Harbor, Sandspit is shaped by the local sand flow and offers a unique surfing experience amidst a scenic backdrop. Access requires parking at the harbor and a short 5-15 minute walk along the breakwater, which can be slippery.
