Description

Queens - Waikiki Beach, Oahu Queens features a reef (coral) wave that breaks both right and left over a bottom of coral and sand. The spot is accessible with a short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the beach, and it works well at all tides. Expect fun power waves, but be cautious of sharp rocks. Located on the south shore of Oahu, Waikiki Beach is a historic surf destination, often regarded as a birthplace of recreational surfing. The area is ultra crowded throughout the week and especially on weekends, attracting surfers of all skill levels, including many beginners. While the conditions can be mellow, the presence of numerous surfers can complicate the lineup. Paddling out may require some effort, but once in the water, there are usually rideable waves. Surfers should remain vigilant of the reef and the crowd while enjoying the vibrant Hawaiian surf culture.
