Surf Puaena Point

Puaena Point (Puni's) - Haleiwa Puaena Point features a reef break with both right and left waves, ideal for intermediate surfers. The spot is located on the north side of Haliewa Beach Park, accessible via a short 5-15 minute walk. The wave conditions are powerful and fun, particularly when the swell direction is from the North or Northwest. This surf spot is known for its unique setup, providing decent waves that are often smaller than other North Shore locations. While it can get crowded during the week, weekends are ultra crowded, especially when other spots are huge. The proximity to the Haleiwa boat channel offers some protection from strong swells, but surfers should be cautious of strong rips and the presence of sharks near the harbor entrance. With sharp coral and rocks, it's essential to respect the environment and be prepared for potential hazards.
