Surf Point Mugu

Point Mugu - California Point Mugu features a beach break with both right and left waves, characterized by a sandy bottom. The waves are known for being hollow, fast, and powerful, making it a high-performance spot for bodyboarding. Access is restricted as it is located on a military base, requiring valid ID for entry. This surf spot is renowned for its incredible lefts, often compared to Pipeline when conditions are optimal. While the weekdays see fewer surfers, weekends can get crowded. Be mindful of localism and potential dangers such as rips and undertow. The best conditions occur during low to mid tide with a falling tide, and the ideal swell comes from the west and southwest. Remember to bring a full wetsuit, food, and water for hydration, as well as to rinse off after your session.
