Description

Neah Bay - 3rd Beach - Washington This left-hand beach break features a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks, delivering hollow, fast, and powerful waves. The spot is best surfed at mid tide during rising and falling tides, with optimal swell coming from the Northwest and West. Access requires a long walk (over 30 minutes) from the pull-out on Hwy 112. Neah Bay's 3rd Beach is renowned for its steep take-offs and impressive teardrop barrels, making it a favorite among experienced surfers. While it can be a challenging spot, especially for longboarders, the wave can reach heights of over 7.6 meters on big days, transforming the cove into a formidable point break. The area is often empty during the week but can become crowded on weekends. Be cautious of rips, undertows, and localism, and ensure your vehicle is parked safely as you navigate the muddy trails to the beach.
